Luther: hungry for Christ

Meditation:
Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
—John 4:13-14 (NIV)

Quotation:
The proverb has it that Hunger is the best cook. The Law makes afflicted consciences hungry for Christ. Hungry hearts appreciate Christ. Thirsty souls are what Christ wants.

Quiet time reflection:
Lord, You alone quench my thirst.
